Sales Navigator v15.5 Update

                                                                                  
Notice: if you are currently on our subscription service, this upgrade will update your system without any problems but you will need 15.5 registration Codes. If you are not, this upgrade MAY bring your system down.  DO NOT attempt this upgrade if you are unsure of your status.  Please call 7-4 PST if you have any questions at 805-434-1111.  Please do not attempt this upgrade after hours or on weekends as we may not be around when you need us.

  1. Before logging out of Sales Navigator, click on the "Preferences" menu, then select "Set defaults". On the Set Defaults panel, choose the "Required" Panel and click on the "Save Registry Settings" button. This will save your desktop configuration and your report menus.
  2. Logout of Sales Navigator, then run one last remote update to make sure your current if you have the remote synchronization feature.  On a network, ALL users must exit.
  3. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST, run your full backup, click on START, then programs, then Sales Navigator, then backup.  Phillips Software is not responsible for data that gets overwritten due to ANY situation.  You ARE responsible for your own data.  This upgrade will NOT overwrite any existing data by design, but a backup MUST be done first before continuing.
  4. Click here SalesNavUpgrade15.5.exe and run the program where it is. VERY IMPORTANT for Windows 7 and Higher users, right click on the executable setup, choose "Run as Administrator".   If you have hi-speed access, just run it, don't save it.  If you have slow internet access, you can save it to disk first, then run it, just remember where you download the file so you can find it.  This file is 40mb in size, so if your speed is too slow, contact us for a CD.   
  5. MAKE SURE YOU SELECT THE CORRECT PATH.  It should be c:\navigate for most of you.  n:\navigate for a network.  Please be aware you only have to run this once on a network for ALL users.
  6. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. When it completes, there will be a checkbox saying "Launch Program" Leave it checked and Click Next. Follow the prompts, leave everything default until it completes. At the end, it will ask you to Register your new version of the software. This must be done with 15.5 Registration Codes. If you do not have current 15.5 registration codes, call 805-434-1111 to get them.
  7. Find the icon that says "CONVERTDATA" with the small yellow ship in a porthole, double click it, press the convert System button and wait for it to complete.
  8. Find the file "termlist.cfg" in your c:\navigate\bin folder that gets created when you register the software runtime in step 6. Copy it to your c:\navigate\programs folder and overwrite the old one.
  9. Make sure your new version of Sales Navigator launches ok.  If it does, delete the CONVERTDATA icon.
  10. After logging in to Sales Navigator, click on the "Preferences" menu, then select "Set defaults". On the Set Defaults panel, choose the "Required" Panel and click on the "Restore Registry Settings" button. Locate the file you save in Step 1, it will have todays datecode and restore your desktop and reports menu settings. make sure to click Save and Exit at the bottom of the Set Defaults view, exit Sales Navigator and log back in.
  11. For additional Workstations, please use this Workstation Upgrade SalesNavWorkStation15.5.exe

NOTE: In some cases, older systems may not have all the fields in all the files necessary to run the new version of this software.  You may get an error, field out of range when saving a new company.  The system will still operate ok, it just won't save new entries.  Please call as soon as possible.  It's a quick fix.
